01 Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the QuranLock application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
QuranLock is operated by QuranLock ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and QuranLock.
02 Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use the App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that you have obtained parental or guardian consent to use the App and agree to these Terms.
03 Description of the App
QuranLock is a productivity and wellbeing application that uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) framework to block user-selected applications on your device until you have completed a Quran reading session according to your chosen configuration.
The App includes features such as:
- App blocking via Apple's Screen Time framework.
- Quran reading tracking (verse and time-based).
- Multiple unlock strategies (verses for time, time for time, earning time credits, etc.).
- Streak tracking.
- Optional subscription plans that expand functionality.
04 Licence
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use the App on Apple-branded devices you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial purposes.
You may not:
- Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App.
- Reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the App.
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose.
- Circumvent, disable, or otherwise interfere with security-related features of the App.
05 Subscriptions & Payments
5.1 Free Tier
The App may be used for free with the following limitation:
- One (1) blocked application at a time.
If additional apps were configured during onboarding, they will appear as inactive/shadowed until you upgrade to a paid plan.
5.2 Paid Plans
QuranLock offers the following subscription options, managed through the Apple App Store:
- Monthly Plan — billed monthly.
- Yearly Plan — billed annually, includes a 3-day free trial that automatically converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends.
- Lifetime Plan — a one-time purchase granting permanent access.
Prices are displayed within the App and may vary by region or be updated from time to time.

5.4 Billing and Renewals
All subscriptions are billed through and managed by Apple. Your subscription renews automatically unless cancelled. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your device's App Store subscription settings. We do not issue refunds — all refund requests must be made directly to Apple in accordance with their policies.
5.5 Price Changes
We reserve the right to change subscription prices. Price changes will be communicated within the App and will take effect at your next renewal date.
06 Screen Time & Device Functionality
QuranLock uses Apple's Screen Time (FamilyControls) framework. By using this feature, you:
- Authorise QuranLock to apply app shields on your device.
- Acknowledge that Screen Time functionality operates at the operating system level and is subject to Apple's implementation and limitations.
- Understand that bypassing Screen Time restrictions (e.g., via device settings, a secondary device, or Screen Time passcode changes) is outside our control.
We do not guarantee that the App will prevent all access to blocked applications in all circumstances. The App is a tool to support your personal discipline and intention — it is not a parental control system and should not be relied upon as one.
07 Quran Content
The Quran text displayed within the App is sourced from a publicly available, verified Arabic corpus. We have made reasonable efforts to ensure the accuracy of the text. However:
- We do not warrant that the Quran text is free from typographical or transcription errors.
- The App displays the Quran for personal reading and devotional purposes only.
- Hasanat (reward) estimates displayed in the App are illustrative approximations based on scholarly averages and are not religious rulings or guarantees.
08 User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Use the App in accordance with these Terms and all applicable laws.
- Not attempt to circumvent any App functionality, including blocking mechanisms.
- Maintain the security of your device and Apple ID.
- Ensure the App is used responsibly, particularly if the device is accessible to minors.
09 Intellectual Property
All content, design, code, trademarks, logos, and other intellectual property in the App are owned by or licensed to QuranLock. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you. The Quran text itself is in the public domain.
10 Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:
- THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.
- THE APP WILL SUCCESSFULLY BLOCK ALL ACCESS TO SELECTED APPLICATIONS IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES.
- ANY ERRORS OR DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.
11 Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, QURANLOCK AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $10 USD, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
12 Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless QuranLock and its affiliates, officers, and employees from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
13 Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms. Upon termination, your licence to use the App immediately ceases. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 9, 10, 11, 12, and 15) will survive.
14 Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date and, where appropriate, by providing additional in-App notice. Your continued use of the App after updated Terms are posted constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
15 Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be submitted to binding arbitration or the courts of the jurisdiction in which QuranLock operates, as applicable.
16 Apple-Specific Terms
As the App is distributed through the Apple App Store, the following additional terms apply:
- These Terms are between you and QuranLock only, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the App.
- In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the App.
- Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, will have the right to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
